Frequently Asked Questions
What vaccinations are required?
We require documentation of the vaccines below, administered at least 72 hours prior to admission:
Rabies
Bordetella (we recommend the injectable or administering the nasal every 6 months as this is most effective).
DHLPP (distemper/parvovirus)
You may bring in documentation or have your veterinarian email it to: vaccinations22@gmail.com.
Do you provide food for pets staying at Dog Boarding at the Beach?
We STRONGLY recommend sending your companion with the food that is part of their normal diet. Sudden changes to a dog's diet can lead to stomach problems. We will provide food if your dog does not have enough for their stay. An additional fee will apply for our food, see our Pricing page for more information.
Is there an additional fee for Play Groups?
Absolutely not! We want all dogs in our care to engage and socialize! This is a great way for them to get their energy out and learn good social behaviors. If you do not wish for your dog to enter play groups, please let a member of our staff know when checking in.
What do you provide for overnight boarding?
To ensure your dog is happy and comfortable, each dog is provided their own private kennel in our climate controlled facilities. Each kennel is outfitted with a raised bed, a soft clean blanket, a water dish and soothing music. It is a great idea to send your dog with a blanket or toy so they can have familiar scents to feel even more at home!
Do I need to bring bedding, bowls, treats or toys?
No. You are more than welcome to bring special toys or bedding so that your buddy has some scents from home, but we provide everything needed for a comfortable, cozy stay. Please label anything you do bring to help us get it back to you.
My pet has a special diet. Can their needs be accommodated?
Of course! We want your fur-babies to have the best possible experience at Dog Boarding at the Beach, so we are more than happy to accommodate any special dietary needs. If they have a special food, please just be sure to send enough to last their entire stay with us.
How can I check on my pet during their stay?
You are welcome to call anytime during our business hours to check on how your dog is doing. You may drop in as well to see them, we just ask you to schedule visits ahead of time so we can have someone available to accompany you. Please also add us on Facebook and Instagram to see pictures and videos from your dog’s stay!
Do you decline dogs based on their breed?
Never! We love and welcome all dogs of all breeds, sizes and ages.
Will my small dog get trampled during play group?
We separate our play groups by size, temperament and other factors to ensure our guests have fun safely.
Do you require reservations?
We do require reservations to ensure there is enough space. Around holidays, we require a 50% deposit to reserve overnight boarding stays. We recommend making reservations as early as possible as our facility fills up, especially around holidays. Remember to let us know as soon as possible if your plans change. Holiday reservations canceled more than 14 days from the date of stay will receive a full refund, reservations canceled more than 72 hours from the date of stay will receive a 50% refund, reservations canceled within 48 hours of the date of stay will forfeit the deposit.
My dog prefers to play alone, can they still come?
Absolutely! Please just let a staff member know when checking-in and we will make a note in their file for private play time. We also offer one-on-one sessions for a small fee - see our pricing page for more information.
Do you allow unaltered (not spayed/neutered) dogs?
Yes, however there is an additional fee as it takes extra effort to keep them separate from other unaltered dogs. See our Pricing page for more information.
What if my unaltered female goes into heat during her stay?
For the safety of our other guests, you may be asked to pick her up.
Is there an additional fee for administering medications?
There is no additional charge for administering medications. However, we are unable to administer injectable medications.
How do I make a reservation?
You can call or book online.
